Home again. It seemed like the land shuttered every time his presence returned. But it was this certain type of internal fear that always made his homecoming worthy. He highly disliked leaving his land so often; it was not something he wanted to do in the first place. He was here for his pack. He was the father, the Don, of this mafia. Sure, the pack's intentions were probably viewed rather negatively, but that didn't mean he was careless; he cared for his subordinates like a family, just like his existing immediate kin...

Raidon's ears twitched at the passing thought; he wanted to see his sons. He descended into his territory, caught off-guard by the soft green grass. He paused, lowering his beastly body to the cool ground, feeling the blades tickle his stomach. A small smile molded his lips, rubbing his muzzle into the thick vegetation, imagining it as fur... his sons'.. Hitora's. The soft local breeze brushed past him, lulling him into a euphoric state of mind. His ragged ears twitched, his nostrils flared. He raised his head, his muzzle wrinkled slightly. This wasn't right.

The large brute of an Akita rose from the ground, his claws digging into the soft soil. He had grown soft... He has become a calm and doting canine, distracted by a new-found family from achieving his goal: to rid the world of this Ou, which had warped many Dogs from far and wide to assume they were safe, that they were immortal because of their "pure souls." Sure, this Dog was not a monster. He did feel. But his sons... They were to follow in his footsteps, whether he was still alive or not. A raised lip exposed a long-time hidden fang, still slightly blood-stained from his past battles and attacks.

He raised his leathery nose, his brows furrowed with contempt. How could he be so stupid? He had a purpose. Hitora... she was the initiator, bringing out his emotions and proving to one and all that he was not a heartless beast. As his mind raced with long-gone thoughts, now focused on finding his scattered pack. But first... he had to find his family. He zigzagged through the familiar aspen grove, brushing his thick body to and fro along the scrawny trees. He mindlessly wandered, trying to find them himself, hoping to catch a scent somewhere in this territory.

Hitora took a deep breath, inhaling the scents of the area in a long, slow intake through her nostrils. Familiar smells. Home. The Southern Alps had become home, become land taken by strength. Held by power. The power of the word and the promise even more than the physical strength now contained within the pack. Hitora could pride herself on the fact that she was responsible for much of that. Raidon brought the power and the strength. When he was in residence, he brought the word and the promise. When he was not, Hitora took that over.

It was slow going but the core had been made, she believed. They just had to build upon their trusted family. They must build up those who could sneak and integrate themselves into Ohu, they must build up those who could become their ranks of soldiers, they must build up those who did the simple task of keeping the pack fed. Now was the time to focus on those who would still be with them but weren't the core pack.

A gusty sigh escaped from her muzzle. It was hard work to achieve one's goals and dreams. She had known that from the start, of course. Nothing worth grasping was ever easy to obtain. Another sigh and the female laid herself down, stretching out over a small rock; similar to the ones they had perched upon when they had initially summoned the pack to them for a meeting last time Raidon had been in residence.

Though Hitora very much kept all of her relationships within their pack, their family, as much business oriented as possible she did miss those that left on their own endeavors. And she missed Raidon. The large male was a presence that she enjoyed being around. She enjoyed the way his mind worked, the intelligence that was there and the sheer power that rolled off of the dog. Seeing him would very much please her.

Besides, their sons needed the strength of their father. A mother, even one such as herself, needed help in steering them down the correct paths for their world and their goals.

Every step seemed to bring back the power to his territory. He liked to think that the current residents, new or old, felt it and, perhaps, recognized it. He wanted to intimidate those who were subordinates, but only to indicate his obvious dominance. Yes, this was a close pack. Most new members were bound to be closer to Hitora due to her (gratefully) consistent presence. He must find her. He must show up to relieve her of her duties so she could focus on the necessities for their pups, and he could still run the pack and influence his sons. He thought about how they looked now. He only saw them sparingly, and now they would be older, mature. They would be the age when they would be expected to follow his footsteps in one way or another, and prove to be an important part of the growing pack.

Snff. Snff. Snf.

He knew this scent; the scent he's been craving. It was such a sweet perfume that simply enchanted him. He found himself realizing of a specific change of himself since his new family came together. This Akita would've been stalking females and simply wishing to take advantage of them, but would leave them both completely satisfied. This was how he met Hitora, but, yet, she had kept him in her grasp, and have now proven to one another there was something more important than power and universal revolutions.

Raidon was drawn to this scent, following it like a deadly predator, quiet and invisible. With his usual luck, it didn't seem to take long to find the source of such an aroma, approaching from behind with silent stealth. Fiery eyes slithered up and down upon the brindled fur. He knew this coat all to well. With a small smirk, he closed in toward this creature, finding himself along the side, but remaining unseen. He laid himself down, stretching his paws out in front of him as he inched only a little further, exposing himself to be seen from the corner of her eye. He wanted to see her reaction to his sudden arrival...

For possibly once in her life, the mighty huntress, the second of the Southern Alps pack, was not all aware. Her thoughts were caught up in past times and in future glories. It was very rare for her to not be focused on every single thing around her. Then again, she often didn't sit and reflect upon their Leader. Certainly she missed him but normally there was much to do and not enough time to waste in thinking; there were new dogs to initiate, mouths to feed, reports to hear, the growing sons to educate and discipline. The life of a mafioso mother was not an easy one.

There was the briefest of noises, the sound of shifting in the grass; through fallen debris and dirt. The Kai dog tilted her head up, nostrils flaring just slightly as she tested the wind. The direction was all wrong and she could get very little from it. It had snapped her from her reverie, however. She was old enough, sure enough, to know that a sound meant something was there. It was far more likely it was something small but chances like that could get you quite dead.

Hitora lowered her head and shifted her body until she was lying sphinx-like, the intense brown eyes scanning the forest. A slight discoloration caught her eyes, the sight of what was surely an outline of a dog. The hackles rose for a brief moment that someone would dare to intrude on Raidon's land and so close to her. The threatening display and the snarl getting ready to build up, however, were gone in a flash. She knew the noble outline of the head and the colors; knew every inch of the powerful male.

That he knew she was there and had seen him there was no doubt. It was obvious he was watching her. The very out of character desire to dash up to him was there and she squashed it down; that was not how they did things. She had missed him terribly but she would not greet him in such a spectacularly silly manner. Rising, the brindle dog took the required steps to take her down from her perch and to the Akita.

She dipped her head first before she took the few steps closer that brought her directly within his personal space, directly in front of him. Slowly, she lowered her head more to give the briefest of brushes of her muzzle against the underside of his, against the soft fur of his cheek, before she pulled her head back. It was still far more affection than she usually demonstrated and she was, in all honesty, faintly embarrassed by it. Yet it was how she felt. It had been so long.

"My lord," she greeted him with those words and the truth. Raidon was lord of these woods and this land, lord of the pack and lord over her.

The monster's heart had softened as he felt the female's muzzle touch his own. Upon her body his eyes ran, still admiring the sculpted form of a fine example of a female. A small smirk lined his jawline as he pressed down a little more as Hitora showed her rare affection. To think they shared such a connection, after an interesting meeting.

"My lord."

His ears perked at the sound of her sugary voice, enticing. Even though it was true he was the king of his self-made castle, he was able to lower his head to brush her cheek with only slight embarrassment. Why should he restrain himself? No one but her would be watching. They were a family, right? Father, mother, two sons. He couldn't ask of anything more when it comes to closeness.

"Forgive me, miss Hitora, for my unannounced leave." He paused, running his gaze along her body once again. He moved forward, leaning in against the brindled akita, wrapping his head around her neck. He pulled back relatively early, putting on a soft smile. "How is my mistress? How are my heirs?" Why not ask about his own bloodline? He cared. He had to. They were the ones he entrusted to the pack; not just any Dog would be capable of such of a reputation in Raidon's eyes.

He lowered his head into his paws, still keeping a small smile on his mug. His fiery eyes scanned the landscape before him. It's remained the same through all that time, but, of course, it has an aging aura. He's seemed to have been here for a while, and it has grown so much. He used to be alone here, swimming around, preying on every trespasser like a shark. Raidon is the permanent resident of the Southern Alps, and his territory will only expand. Eventually, he will possess the land of Ou, much to his pleasure.

Hitora drew back just slightly, a mild twinge of embarrassment the main cause. So far as she knew, she had never been outright cruel to any canine. Harsh, yes. She expected to be listened to and demanded respect. Certainly she had openly admired Raidon before and while she was demanding with and determined her sons would be as she wanted them she was not overly mean she didn't think. A gesture of affection was out of character, though, and she had a few seconds to wonder at it.

She did not draw much further back than that, though, as Raidon brushed his own muzzle against her own. The strong body shifted forward and the muscular head and neck rested around her's for a moment. There was no hesitancy in the gesture nor any true embarrassment. Perhaps they had grown past the business-like deal that they had made together in the beginning. Perhaps he had just simply missed home and she the leader of this land. Hard to say.

"You need not even ask for it," she told him. Raidon was lord and king; he could do as he wished, in all honesty. Something could call him away, something could require his attention. He might simply want to step from his lands and survey others. He need not apologize to her or any of their pack though the fact that he was willing to do so was an honor and should be perceived as such. "All healthy, all doing well. They've grown so you might not even recognize them." Did she unload a mother's complaints or allow him to form his own opinions?

After all, Hitora had spent time with them since they had been born. Raidon had been scarcer. Her complaints could be unfounded. She had no desire to drive a rift between father and sons. They were to be the heirs, after all. Necrophiliac would be the one to follow in Raidon's steps but Atidera could be a good general if he just got past the phase where he seemed to want to love everything, be a friend to all.

The keen brown eyes watched as Raidon lowered his head, eyes scanned the land as he rested. She lowered herself down as well, stretching her paws out; she was incredibly close, her shoulder just within the range of his paws and one paw rested just over one of his own. Within touching distance.

Hmm. Where had mother gotten too. Necro raised his head as he awoke from his nap, noticing immediately that his mother was nowhere to be seen. Stretching himself out, he lazed in the sun for a few moments, enjoying the adolescent, lazy stage of being a pup. However, he was the heir to both this land and his fathers leading position, so he didn't want to look as comfortable and relaxed as he felt like being. A quick yawn, then the growing pup was on his feet and shaking his coat out, looking around curiously. It was time to locate his mother, he knew she wouldn't be far.

Necro felt a rumble in his belly, and he looked down in annoyance. Hunger, it was such.. an inconvenience at times. Later, he decided, he would try and catch a rabbit to sate his ever rumbling stomach. Since he was growing at such a fast rate, it seemed like he was always hungry, which is where his mother came in handy. Hunting small things was no problem for him, but he liked the hunting lessons his mother taught him. It was bonding, as well as skill building.

Snorting, he took off into the brush, keeping low to the ground and inhaling the scents off the earthy floor. His mothers scent was strong, so he kept his nose glued to the trail and took off into the trees, trying to be quiet as he tracked her. It was always fun sneaking up on his mom, but he knew she always heard him coming or spotted him first. Minutes went by, and a passing breeze made him lift his head and momentarily stop. He scented Hitora, as well as another familier scent... male, musky, but one that had not been around in awhile. A smile briefly flashed across the normally stone faced pup as he took in the smell of Raidon, his father.

Walking normally now, he walked through the brush until the two canine forms came into sight, the small stature of his mother, and the larger one of his father. Approaching Raidon, he nuzzled the side of him. " Hello, father. "

"You need not even ask for it. All healthy, all doing well. They've grown so you might not even recognize them."

Raidon allowed a proud smile to etch along his dark muzzle, glancing toward Hitora with his fiery eyes before turning his head, looking over the quiet land. Only by a little, he tilted his skull skyward, his attention running along the spots of clouds plastered on the canvas of a blue sky. "I would like to see them," he said in an out-of-character voice. When the concept of family took over his mind, he was drowning in it. He couldn't think of anything else.

The Akita couldn't remember the type of affection and care a family could provide. He was trained to his full potential, resulting in his comforting and nostalgic memories to be wiped out. To consider his past, he was experiencing a side of him he was simply not aware of. It was still too surrealistic for him, but it would only be a matter of time before he could fully embrace it.

He felt a sudden nuzzle into his side, and it certainly was not Hitora. He would have jumped up and become aggressive due to the sudden startle if it wasn't for the intercepting "Hello, father." Raidon perked his ears, put off by the affection from almost a complete stranger. No. He saw the image of himself. Not by appearance or anything, but the eyes. This pup's eyes bared the same spark he himself had. Hitora wasn't lying! He has grown! This is Necrophiliac... He remembered upon the first meeting of his sons, and Necrophiliac was the one just like him. The giveaway was his eyes. Those are what Raidon referenced off of. Hm. Where's Atidera? He wasn't sure what to think of his absence, but Hitora was a good mother. She had good judgment, and he could only assume she trusted the boys to take care of themselves for some lapses of time.

The hardened general probably would have snapped at his determined heir for the unnecessary affection. However, he had to remember his heir was still a pup, still in need of some sort of doting attention. When he had grown and knew how the real world worked, Raidon would show him the duties of a leader. Of course, he was trained by humans, of whom were violent and merciless, but he was sure he could transfer the same concept to his son.

With slight hesitation, Raidon pushed himself up with his forelegs, towering over his growing son. Proceeded by a smirk, he was somewhat unsure of what to do. Return obvious affection or tease? Necro was like him. He should be strong and tolerable. He should not take shit from anyone. Either way, Necro would have to learn. Better now than later, when he is a stubborn adolescent. "Well, Necro. You've grown to look like your mother. You might be a little too feminine to take my place when I'm gone." He chuckled a little, glancing back at Hitora. He meant no offense. He was only teasing after all.

"They will know you are here," Hitora told him confidently. Blood called to blood, after all. The land would recognize its true Leader had returned. Creatures would whisper. The wind would carry its tale. It would be very hard to not realize that Raidon had returned. She was confident that both of her sons would realize without needing to be told that their father had returned to them yet again.

The sudden appearance of Necrophiliac only confirmed this. She was fairly surprised to see the light nuzzle coming from son to father but, then again, it had been a very long time since Raidon had appeared. Equally, Necro was still a pup. He had grown and filled out; he was proving that he would be if not as large as his father then certainly a fairly good size still given the breed mix. Inside, though, he had not reached adulthood. A pup that had not seen his father in forever would be affectionate.

The Kai dog allowed herself to shift her body back a tiny bit. She was in no way giving up her claim on the majority of Raidon's attentions or closeness. Hitora didn't work that way. She was his second in command for a reason and power was not something she yielded to anyone else easily. Besides, she had missed the Akita just as much as his sons had. Still, father and son should be allowed their time together as well... and to speak. There was none better to fill the young minds full of plans, the way they worked, and the future than the Leader himself.

The smaller female watched as Raidon pushed himself up. Even with Necro's growth spurt, Raidon towered above his son. Unless he gained his father's full height, the older male probably always would. Hitora watched Raidon as he spoke, ear flicking only once in faint irritation. After all, she was feminine and look at all that she had done with their pack. It was only a small flash, though, and it was past. The apologetic glance was more than enough to soothe the tiny flare up and besides, it was easy to see that he was goading his son.
